Mediterranean Storm
Description
am in the process (New Year's Goal) of going through every digital photo I have ever taken (8 terabytes) and I am discovering photos I had forgotten that I love. This is one of them. We were sailing on Celebrity's Galaxy through the Straits of Messina the body of water that separates Sicily from the tip of Italy's boot. Less than 20 minutes before I took this shot, it had been a bright and sunny day as we sailed past Stromboli, one of Italy's active volcanoes. In no time we were in a storm and within a hour of my taking this shot, dishes were crashing to the floor in the buffet, ice sculptures falling over, tables sliding and waves breaking over the top of the ship. Worst storm we have ever been in. The power of nature is amazing. I loved this shot that captures the sea in transition.
